Rosemary spent her childhood in her parents' home and attended country school for one year before enrolling at St. Mary’s School in Storm Lake, where she graduated from high school with the Class of 1948. Rosemary then graduated from St. Joseph School of Nursing in Sioux City, Iowa.

On January 15, 1953, Rosemary was united in marriage to Leo George Overmohle at St. Mary’s Church in Storm Lake. Their union was blessed with nine children: sons Michael and Robert and daughters Cindy, Susan, Laurie, Beth, Barb, Nancy and Mary. Rosemary and Leo celebrated 50 years together in January of 2003.

However, Rosemary’s most important calling was making a happy home for her family.
