Bruce loved the land and devoted himself to the farming vocation his entire lifetime. Bruce and Colleen farmed in the Linn Grove and Sioux Rapids areas during their married life. Bruce was a baseball enthusiast and even into his adult years, he still participated in the sport. When he could no longer play baseball, he still enjoyed watching the games. He also enjoyed hunting, especially turkeys, and will be remembered as a hard working man with a commendable work ethic. Bruce had a love for music and could quite possibly have been the biggest John Denver fan ever. Bruce was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Sioux Rapids, where he had been a Sunday School teacher. He also had driven a school bus for several years.

Among those who will always cherish his memory are his children: Ron and Sonya Geisinger of Linn Grove, Iowa; Kurt and Debra Geisinger of Linn Grove, Iowa; Eric and Ann Geisinger of Peterson, Iowa; Marcia Smithey of Dimock, South Dakota; and Beed and Heather Geisinger of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; his grandchildren: Brandy and Todd Dirksen, Rhiannon and Matt Chizek, Lee John Geisinger, Samantha Farrenkopf, Zamara Geisinger, Eli Geisinger, Todd and Heather Geisinger, Jonathon Geisinger, Jason Geisinger, Shena Geisinger, Jake Smithey, Jeff Smithey, Taylor Geisinger, Austin Brown, and Clayton Geisinger; his great-grandchildren: Nathan, Tyler, Lauren, and Anna Dirksen, and Cooper Chizek; his sister and brother-in-law, Norma and Don Anderson of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; other relatives and a host of friends.
