Thomas Hart - June 26, 1969 - Aug. 17, 2009

Thomas Hart, age 40, of Sioux Rapids, Iowa, died on Monday, August 17, 2009 at his home in Sioux Rapids.

Thomas Bert Hart, the son of Earl E. and Madlyn (Hamner) Hart, was born in Oakland, California, on June 26, 1969. Tom lived his youth and began his education in Richmond, California. In 1990, he moved with his family to his father’s family farm near Webb. Tom graduated from South Clay High School in 1987. Following graduation, Tom served in the United States Air Force. He moved to California in 1989 and was employed by his uncle.

On September 21, 1991, Tom was united in marriage to Melissa Matthews in Terril, Iowa, and they were blessed with three children: Kelsey, Tymothy, and Cameron. Tom worked for Stylecraft Furniture in Milford, Iowa, for 5 years followed by employment with Maurer Manufacturing in Spencer. For 10 years, Tom worked for Spencer Auto Parts and then was a sales representative for Air Gas. His most recent employment was as a welder with Ranco in Sioux Rapids.

Tom was an outdoors person and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and riding his ATV’s and dirt bikes. He had served as president of the O.H.B. Club. Tom recently purchased a Harley motorcycle and loved spending time on his bike.

Tom is survived by his former wife, Melissa, of Terril, Iowa, his three children: Kelsey, Tymothy, and Cameron, his mother: Madlyn Hart of Webb, Iowa, three sisters: Katharine Fiske of Grass Valley, California, Clarice Hart of Round Lake, Minnesota, and Lisa White and her husband, John, of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, his nieces and nephews: Sarah, Micah, Chris, Josh, Jason, Jordan, and Jonathan, two great nieces: Marina and Sarah Ann, other extended family and many his many friends. Tom’s presence will be deeply missed by his nieces and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his grandparents, his father, and one brother: Maurice.
