Joyce A. Engebretson - Dec. 13, 1951 - June 18, 2009

Joyce A. Engebretson, age 57, of Clear Lake, Iowa, and formerly of Linn Grove, Iowa, died at Hospice of North Iowa in Mason City, Iowa, on Thursday, June 18, 2009.

Joyce Ann Engebretson was the daughter of Herman “Bill” and Martha Ellen (Glenny) Engebretson and was born in Cherokee, Iowa, on December 13, 1951. Joyce lived her youth in the Linn Grove area and her first years of school were spent in Linn Grove and Peterson, Iowa. Joyce completed her education at the Hope Haven School in Rock Valley, Iowa. In 1974, she moved to Clear Lake, Iowa, and has since resided at the Opportunity Village in Clear Lake.

Joyce loved all kinds of music and music brought her a great sense of enjoyment. She also liked going to the Clay County Fair at Spencer, traveling, taking trips with her family to Texas, and the various trips she took with the other residents of Opportunity Village. Joyce also liked her cats and enjoyed partaking in all dining opportunities.

She is fondly remembered by her cousins and other extended family members.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Martha Ellen.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 22, at 10:30 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Linn Grove. Burial will be in the Barnes Township Cemetery at Linn Grove. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. The Sliefert Funeral Home of Sioux Rapids is in charge of arrangements.
