My grandfather's name was Peter Lars Christiansen. He came to America from Denmark, with his parents at the age of six. He married Awilda McClure before 1900 and they raised eleven children on a farm in Independence. My grandmother died around 1950 and is buried in Wilson Cemetary next to an infant son, Lloyd. Pete had kind of disappeared from the family before I was born. As far as I know all the children left that area except John, also known as Jack. He moved to Decorah in his later years. Any ideas how I can trace the Christiansen or McClure families would be welcomed.
