Jeanette M. Lincoln, 86, of Jesup, IA, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at ABCM Rehabilitation Center – West Campus in Independence, IA

Jeanette was born on July 29, 1938, on a farm in Center Township in rural Dubuque County, IA, the daughter of John “Jack” and Clara T. (Momberg) Schrobilgen. She grew up in rural Dubuque, County, IA and attended the local catholic school. In 1956 she graduated from Visitation Academy High School in rural Dubuque County. Jeanette loved to go out dancing with friends and one night she met Gerald B. Hingtgen. They quickly fell in love and were married on October 22, 1957, at St. Philomena Catholic Church in Asbury, IA. They lived in Dubuque, and Raymond, IA, before finally making their home in Jesup, IA. They raised their ten children together and were later divorced.

For several years Jeanette managed the Black Stallion in Jesup. She later worked at West Village Care Center in Independence, IA as an aide. In 1986 Jeanette became a Certified Nurse Aide and started working at Ravenwood Rehabilitation Center in Waterloo, IA, where she worked until her retirement.

She is survived by her children; Michael Hingtgen, Independence, IA, Karen (James) Pullin, Jesup, IA, Mark (Robin) Hingtgen, Baltimore, MD, Jean (Roy) Bergman, Littleton, IA, Jacqueline (Rodney) Danielsen, Cedar Falls, IA, Pat (Diep) Hingtgen, Lexington Park, VA, and Gerald (Tracy) Hingtgen, Tiffin, IA, Kevin (Melissa) Hingtgen, Fairbank, IA, a daughter-in-law Dawn Hingtgen, Independence, IA, A brother Donald Schrobilgen, Asbury, IA and a sister Marlene Luchsinger, Dubuque, IA, twenty-seven grandchildren, and twenty-seven great grandchildren.

Jeanette is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Clara Schrobilgen, a son, Jeffery Hingtgen, and daughter Karla Strickler, and a daughter-in-law, Dawn Hingtgen, two brothers, William “Bill” Schrobilgen and John “Bub” Schrobilgen and two sisters, Kathleen “Kay” Ackerman and Ann Hall

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, October 28, 2024, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Independence, IA, with Very Rev. David Beckman presiding. The burial will be held at Wilson Cemetery in Independence.

Visitation will be held from 3 PM until 6 PM on Sunday October 27th at the Reiff Family Center- Funeral Home & Crematory in Independence, IA.
