Michael W. Lightfoot, 58, of Hazleton, Iowa, died Thursday, July 7, 2022, at his home.

Funeral Service: 11:00 A.M. Thursday, July 14, 2022, at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein.

Visitation: 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home.

Interment: Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, rural Oelwein.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, social distancing and masks are suggested at the visitation and service.

Michael William Lightfoot was born June 29, 1964, in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Andy Emil, Sr. and Shirley Janet (Cooke) Lightfoot. He graduated from the Vinton School. Michael enjoyed swimming, watching sports, listening to the radio, Johnny Cash, Ninja Turtles, and the Green Bay Packers.

Michael is survived by his 5 siblings: Janet (Leonard) Green of Hazleton, John Pease of Jesup, Andy Lightfoot, Jr. of Hazleton, Dwane (Ann) Lightfoot of Oelwein and Dianna Lightfoot of Hazleton; nieces and nephews: Audreanna Lightfoot, Nathaniel Lightfoot, Jennifer Frese, Amanda Curtis, Sacarrie Lightfoot, Lakota Lightfoot, Maverick Lightfoot and Brooklynn Crouse all of Hazleton; and many other nieces, nephews; and great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother: Viola Wedo; parents: Andy and Shirley Lightfoot; brother: Melvin Lightfoot, Sr.; sister: Merle “Sue” Lightfoot; nephew: Melvin Lightfoot, Jr.; and a niece: Danielle Lightfoot.
