Obituary

Marjorie Whitenack, 100, of Independence, IA died on January 30, 2022, at ABCM Rehabilitation Center- West Campus in Independence, IA.

Marjorie was born on August 2, 1921, in Independence, IA the daughter of Layton and Rose (Wilson) Whitenack. Growing up in rural Independence she attended the Buchanan County Country Schools.

Marjorie spent most of her life in Independence and held the community close to her heart. She often volunteered at the John Locke School in Independence, and with many different community activities and celebrations.

Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents, Layton and Rose Whitenack, four sisters, Annie Whitenack, Irene Whitenack, Marguerite Hill, and Mary Steege, and a brother, LeRoy Brown.
