Kathryn A. Roberts, 78, of Independence, IA died on Tuesday December 28, 2021, at ABCM Rehabilitation Center – West Campus in Independence.

Kathryn was born on August 6, 1943, in Independence, IA the daughter of Claus “Doc” and Eileen "Sis" (Frye) Frye. She grew up in Independence and attended the Independence Community Schools. On August 6, 1960, Kathryn married James A. Roberts at St. John’s Catholic Church in Independence. For many years they lived throughout the United States while James served in the military. They settled in Phoenix, AZ for thirty years. Kathryn worked at Kmart in Phoenix for many years. Kathryn and James were divorced, and she moved back to Independence, IA.

Kathryn is survived by her niece, Pamela Shannon, a great-niece Breanna Winters, and two great-nephews, Kelly Adam Lohrer, and Jordan Shannon

She is preceded in death by her parents Doc and Sis Lohrer, and two brothers, Russell and Jerry Lohrer. and a great-nephew, Ricky Russell Lohrer

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
