Debra L. "Debbie" Thomas, 62, of Hazleton, Iowa died Wednesday morning, March 10, 2021 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.

Funeral Service: 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 15, 2021 at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein, Iowa with Carol Hamilton officiating.

Visitation: 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home.

Interment: Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein.

Due to recommendations from state and federal health officials during the COVID-19 pandemic, guests are required to wear a mask and social distance. We encourage relatives and friends not able to attend the service to reach out to the family by leaving a message on the funeral home web site, by mail, text or phone.

Debra Lynn Kisner was born July 15, 1958 at Oelwein, the daughter of John Joseph and Jean M. (Payne) Kisner. She attended Oelwein Community Schools and later received her GED. Debbie was united in marriage to Larry Thomas and they later divorced. She enjoyed fishing, camping, working in her garden, going to the Casino, Bingo and her grandchildren.

Debbie is survived by her significant other of many years: Bill Blume of Hazleton; 3 children: Andrea (Bob) Iseton of Oelwein, Mandy Thomas of Grizzly Flats, California and Contessa Thomas of Ohio; 5 grandchildren; brother: Mike (Dawn) Kisner of Oelwein and Dean (Linda) Kisner of Topeka, Kansas; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister: Karan Helmuth; and brother-in-law: Harley Helmuth.
