Two Boys Drowned at Independence.
Independence, Ia., Nov. 28.—This city experienced a shocking catas{t}rophy at noon to-day. Two boys, James Malloy and Lewis Osborne, had rigged up an ice boat and were sailing with it on the river north of the Illinois Central track. They sailed into an air hole and precipitated in eight feet of water, both being drowned before assistance could reach them. An immediate search was begun for the bodies and they were recovered at 1:30 this afternoon.
