Marcia A. Moritz, 82, of Oelwein, Iowa, died on Saturday morning, January 9, 2021 at Oelwein Health Care Center.

Graveside Memorial Service: 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Hazleton (Fontana) Cemetery, Hazleton, Iowa, with Pastor Josh Schunk officiating.

Visitation: 12:30 to 1:30 P.M. Saturday at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein.

Final Resting Place: Hazleton (Fontana) Cemetery, Hazleton, Iowa.

Memorials may be directed to St. Croix Hospice or Oelwein Health Care Center.

Due to state and federal guidance on gatherings and the recent surge in the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing will be required. Those in attendance are required to wear a mask. We encourage relatives and friends not able to attend the service to reach out to the family by leaving a message on the funeral home web site, by mail, text or phone.

Marcia Ann Baldwin was on born December 1, 1938 in Oelwein, Iowa, the daughter of Albert Walter & Mayme Lois (Howard) Baldwin. She graduated from Oelwein High School in the class of 1957 and worked at Speedy Manufacturing. Marcia was united in marriage to Leslie Tyler on August 31, 1957 and then later to Roy H. Moritz on December 28, 1963. For the majority of Marcia’s life, she was a homemaker, wife and mother. In later years she continued her education by receiving her A.A. degree from Hawkeye Tech in Waterloo in horticulture and worked at the Corner Market.

Marcia was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She enjoyed digging in the dirt, knitting, and reading. Marcia will be remembered for her kindness and sense of humor.

Marcia is survived by her 3 Daughters: Christy (Geoff) Moser of Ormond Beach, Florida,

Muriel Bockenstedt of Abilene, Texas &

Marilyn Keenan of Brandon, Mississippi;

4 Step-Children: Cindy (Gregg) Zingg of Iowa Falls,

Sheila (Jerry) Zingg of Livingston, Texas,

Doug (Sheila) Moritz of Osage &

Kevin “Jon” Moritz of Hazleton;

6 Grandchildren;

7 Great Grandchildren;

2 Brothers: Franklin “Frank” (Florence) Baldwin of Troy, Missouri &

Alden “Al” (Jean) Baldwin of Oelwein;

2 Sisters: Marjorie Groskurth of Oelwein &

Nancy (Don) Frank of Bellevue and

Many Nieces & Nephews.

Marcia was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Roy on February 2, 1991, 3 step-sons: Roy L. Moritz, Mark Moritz & Patrick Moritz, an infant sister, and her two sisters, Lois Baldwin & Mary Bantz.
