Guy J Williamson. , 75, of Rowley, IA died on Saturday December 19, 2020 at his home in Rowley, IA.
Guy was born on June 5, 1945 in Independence, IA the son of Guy and Helen (Palmer) Williamson. He attended the Rowley School and was a 1963 graduate of Independence High School. He started to take care of the family farm shortly after graduating high school. Guy also worked for many years at FJ Krob & Company in Rowley helping haul grain throughout the years. On February 19, 1972, he married Patricia A. McMurrin at the Methodist Church in Rowley. They made their home on the Williamson Family Farm and raised four sons together. He enjoyed teaching his sons about farming and spent years as a 4-H Leader in Buchanan County. He also loved baseball and spent years coaching and umpiring.
Guy had a passion for tractors. He enjoyed going to tractor pulls and rebuilding two-cylinder tractors. In his later years he started to build custom toy tractors and traveled to many different farm toy auctions and shows throughout the state.
He is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Patricia Williamson, Rowley, IA, his four sons, Christopher (Michele) Williamson, Rowley, IA, Scott (Teresa) Williamson, Eldora, IA, Kevin (Rita) Williamson, Independence, IA, and Mark (Kim) Williamson, Independence, IA, eleven grandchildren, Logan, Taylor, Cole, Casey, Carly, Elizabeth, Lucas, Caleb, Brooklyn, Owen, and Parker, two great grandchildren, Liberty, and Lainey, a sister-in-law, Sharon Corsmeier, Central City, IA, and several nieces and nephews.
Guy is preceded in death by his parents Guy and Helen Williamson.
A funeral Service will be held at 1 PM on Saturday December 26, 2020 at the Reiff Family Center in Independence. Burial will be held at the Rowley Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 AM until the Funeral Service on Saturday.
