Burns Prove Fatal.
Miss Maude Wilson, who was burned to a crisp at the Gedney hotel at Independence while performing duties in the kitchen over a week ago, died as a result of the terrible wounds. She was twenty years old and had lived at Independence nearly all her life. Her apron caught fire and in throwing up her hands she spilled grease over her person. The flames burned her from head to foot.Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows she is buried in Wilson Cemetery and that she was born June 26, 1887 and died March 1, 1908. It also shows her name as Maud.
