Terry Lee Johnson was born July 27, 1958 at Independence, IA, the son of Kenneth and Alice Hilmer Johnson. He grew up on the farm between Quasqueton and Winthrop.

Terry attended school in Quasqueton and Winthrop, graduating with the East Buchanan High School class of 1976. He then worked at construction and cooking jobs all over the United States until moving back to Iowa. Recently he has lived in Cedar Rapids and most recently Iowa City.

Terry Johnson, 59, of Iowa City, entered into his eternal rest on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, in Iowa City .

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers: Carl Johnson, Harold Johnson, Donald Cory, and Allen Cory.

Survivors include his two brothers: Ken (Sandra) Johnson of Independence and David (Barb) Cory of San Antonio, TX; seven nieces and nephews: Dr. Jeremy (Allison) Johnson of Independence; Andrew (Amanda) Johnson of Rowley; Damon (Kelly) Cory of San Antonio, TX; Jason Cory of Colorado; Amanda (Rob) Opfer of Central City; Brooke Carpino (Lucas) of San Antonio, TX; and Ricky Cory of Denver, CO.

Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, May 26, 2018 at the Fawcett Funeral Home in Winthrop with Pastor Sue Ann Raymond officiating. Friends may call prior to services from 9 AM until 10:30 A.M. Saturday at Fawcett’s. Inurnment will be in Wilson Cemetery at Independence, Iowa.
