Mae Lillian Kroeger, 91, of Rock Hill, SC died at Westminster Health and Rehab Center on Tuesday, November 21, 2017. She was born November 21, 1926 on the family farm near Winthrop, Iowa, the daughter of Fred E. and Elizabeth (Beith) Dennie.

Mae graduated from Winthrop High School with the class of 1944 and attended the University of Dubuque. On December 14, 1946, she and Bernard S. Kroeger were united in marriage. They farmed in Buchanan County until they retired. He preceded her in death in 1998. She moved to Independence, IA in 2007 and then to her daughter’s SC home in 2014.

Mae was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Independence, IA, the American Legion Auxiliary, Quasqueton, IA, and a past member of the Buffalo Creek Golf Course, Winthrop, IA. Besides golfing she enjoyed many years of playing duplicate and party bridge.

She is survived by two daughters, Cynthia (Ed) Radigan, Chicago, IL, Sandra (Michael) McKeon, Rock Hill, SC, and three grandchildren, Andrea Radigan, and Sean and Colin McKeon. She is survived by one sister-in-law, Mary Ellen (Stephen) O’Brien of Dubuque, IA.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, George, and a sister, Jean Sasse.

Funeral Services are to be held at 11 am on Saturday, December, 2, 2017 at Fawcett’s Funeral Home in Winthrop, IA with Rev. John Hougen officiating. Visitation is on Friday, December 1, 2017 from 5 to 7 pm at the funeral home and on Saturday from 10 to 11 am. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Winthrop.

The Fawcett Funeral Home and cremation services is assisting the family with arrangements.
