Henry “Hank” Elmer Lammers was born September 13, 1938 on a farm near New Vienna, Iowa, the son of Al and Marcie Lammers. At an early age, his family moved to the Winthrop area where he remained a lifetime citizen graduating from Winthrop High School in 1956.

Hank was united in marriage to Connie Scott on April 25, 1961 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Winthrop. To this union were born three beautiful daughters, Michelle, Melanie and Debi. Hank worked at John Deere in Waterloo for thirty-four years until retiring in 1994.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, son-in-law, brother and friend, he was a kind gentle soul who was happiest when surrounded by family. Throughout his life he enjoyed fishing, gardening, golfing, cheering for the Hawkeyes and Cubs and pulling a camper on cross-country vacation trips. In his later years, he enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, cheering for West Delaware and Tuesday tours with his siblings. He was a lifetime member of Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church.

At the age of 78 years, Hank entered into his eternal rest on Monday, July 3, 2017 with his wife and daughters by his side.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Doris Ryan and Verna Alden, and a brother, LeRoy Lammers.

Survivors include his wife Connie Lammers of Winthrop; daughters: Michelle “Micko” (Brett) Heiserman of Rowley, Melanie (Robert) Allison of Fort Collins, Colorado, Debi (Chester) Zermeno of Fort Collins, Colorado; four grandchildren: Katlyn (Kevin) Lennemann of Pleasant Hill, Paige (Justin) Wenger of Ryan, Gillian and Ryan Allison of Fort Collins, Colorado; one great grandson: Hayden Wenger; one sister: Betty Cusick of Dyersville; two brothers: Les (Janet) Lammers of Estherville, Charlie (Ellen) Lammers of Manchester; a sister-in-law: Carol Cusick of Winthrop; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Friday, July 7, 2017 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Winthrop with Father David Beckman officiating. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery at Winthrop. Casketbearers : Justin Wenger, Kevin Lennemann, Nick Dennie, Mike Ferreter, Bill Alden, and Jerry Alden. Music by Janet Fangman and ST. Patrick’s Choir.

Friends may call from 5 PM until 7 PM Thursday, July 6 at Fawcett Funeral Home in Winthrop where a rosary will be recited at 4:30 PM Thursday.
