Independence, Ia. Nov. 3. - Special: Mrs. Ella Buchanan, 71, died suddenly at her home Monday. She had been in her usual health Sunday and about 1 o'clock Monday morning she awoke her daughter, Mrs. Rose Elderton, who with her husband and children have been making their home there for the past two years, and she called a physician, but it was only a short time before she died, apparently from an attack of heart trouble. She was the widow of the late Dr. R. E. Buchanan, and the family had been reisdents of this city for the past 40 years. She is survived by a son, Dr. R. A. Buchanan, Huron, S. D.; and the daughter, Mrs. Elderton in this city.

The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, the Rev. F. E. Hamlin of the First Prebysterian Church officiating. Burial was made in the Oak Grove Cemetery, this city.
