Doris M. Schoultz, 83, of Independence, died Thursday morning, August 2, 2007 at the East Towne Manor in Independence following a short illness.
Doris was born on March 31, 1924 in Ryan, the daughter of Frank D. and Mary Ellen (McCusker) McAreavy. She was united into marriage to Wallace J. Schoultz on June $, 1955 in St. John's Catholic Church in Independence, where the couple made their home.
She is survived by four children; Jane (Greg)Gates, Independence,Barb (Jerry)Jensen, Nebraska City, Neb., Connie (Jim)Schumacher, Hudson, and Frank (Karen)Schultz, Dunkerton, ten grandchildren, and one great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wallace J. Schultz in 1985, a daughter, Judith Schultz in infancy, five sisters; Bernice Curry, Lorraine McQuire, Mae Miller, Kathleen Schultz, Bernadette McAvreavy, and two brothers; Dorrance and Loras McAvreavy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, August 4, 2007 at St. John's Catholic Church, Independence with Rev. Aloysius J. Vorwald officiating. Burial will be in the St. John's Catholic Cemetery.
