Roy Allen was instantly killed in an automobile accident at North Bend, Neb., Saturday evening Oct. 17.1914. He went with a young man for a drive and in turning to look behind him lost control of the car and it turned turtle, the hind wheel striking Mr. Allen in the head killing him instantly.

Harold LeRoy Allen was born in Quasqueton, September 4, 1891 and was the son of Mr. E.C. and Sarah Allen. His mother died July 24, 1892, when Roy was but ten months old. His grandmother Parker raised him until he was old enough to work out, when he went to work for his uncle, Sam Anson.

He was married February 27, 1911 to Miss Lola M. Furbush, who with their little three year old son is left heart-broken. He also leaves his father, E.C. Allen, of Quasqueton, one brother, Harry E. of Rowley, and several other relatives and many friends.

The body was brought to Winthrop Tuesday evening and and taken to the home of his uncle C.G. Copeland, where the funeral was held Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock and the remains were laid to rest besides his mother in the Quasqueton cemetery. The bereaved ones have the sympathy of all.
