George Allen Meister, 59, of Independence, Iowa died Monday Morning, April 20, 2015 at his home in Independence.

George was born on July 25, 1955 in Independence, Iowa the son of Albert and Lucille (Zimpher) Meister. He attended the Independence Jefferson High School. On December 24, 1973 he was married to Connie Mae Johnson and the couple made their home in Independence. George was employed with Wapsi Valley Creamery in Independence for 38 years.

He enjoyed playing pool eating out, stock car racing and spending time with his family and friends.

George is survived by his wife Connie, a sister Debra (Larry) Hanna, and a brother Bill (Tamara) Meister, all of Independence, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Albert Meister.

A celebration of life gathering will be held from 3 to 5 PM Sunday at St. James Episcopal Church in Independence, Iowa.

Inurnment will be held at later date in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Independence, IA.
