Betty Tutwiler, 83, of Bossier City, LA., and formerly of Independence, Iowa died on December 22, 2011 in Bossier City, LA.

Betty was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa the daughter of William and Olive Peyton. She was married to Glen Tutwiler on August 17, 1947 in the Little Brown Church, Nashua, Iowa. The couple made their home in Independence, Iowa. Following the death of her husband Glen Betty moved to Bossier City, LA to live with her son.

She is survived by two children; Charles (Christine) Tutwiler, Bossier City, LA., and Sharon Wendling, Des Moines, IA. three grandchildren; John (Susanne) Tutwiler, David Tutwiler, Elizabeth (Bobby) Guidry, and a great granddaughter; Autumn Guidry, two sisters; Goldey McAtee, Jesup, IA., and Verna Warthan, Oelwein, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Glen in 2010, a granddaughter Angela (Tutwiler) Cameron, one sister; Sherry Mead, a brother William Peyton, jr.

Graveside Memorial services will be held at 2 P.M. Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Independence, Iowa.
