Obituary for David Boies Sr.
David A. Boies, Sr., 62, of Hazleton, Iowa died Saturday, April 28, 2012 at the Grandview Health Care Center in Oelwein, Iowa.

Dave was born on September 6, 1949, in Independence, Iowa the son of Roy L. and Anna E. (Hayden) Boies. He attended the Independence Community School and Hawkeye Tech in Waterloo, Iowa. On September 20, 1968 he married Kathy J. Sherrets in Independence. The family made their home in Independence, IA where Dave became employed with the Moose’s Masonry, Schmidt’s Masonry and the Water Department with the City of Independence. The couple moved to Hazleton, Iowa in 2003.

He is survived by his wife; Kathy Boies, Hazleton, IA., three children; David A. (Stephanie) Boies Jr., Independence, IA. Rusty (Suelyn) Boies, Jesup, IA., and Jennifer (Mark) Anderson, Oelwein, IA., nine grandchildren; a great grandson, and a sister; Dorothy Smith, Independence, IA

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother; LeRoy Boies, and four sisters; Virginia Butters, Eileen Straw, Bernita Reyna, and Phyllis Frey.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 P.M. Wednesday in the Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence, IA., with Rev. James Blair officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Independence, IA. Friends may call from 4 to 8 P.M. Tuesday and from 8 A.M. till Services Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
