(May 18, 1933 - July 8, 2015)

Leone E. Dopp, 82, of Strawberry Point and formerly of Oelwein, Iowa died Wednesday morning, July 8, 2015 at the Gernand Retirement Village in Strawberry Point.

Memorial Service: 10:00 A.M Saturday, July 11, 2015 at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein with Rev. Charis Combs-Lay officiating. Visitation: 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday, July 10, 2015 and after 9:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.

Inurnment: Campton-Oak Hill Cemetery, Lamont, Iowa. A Memorial Fund has been established in her name.

Leone Evelyn Alderson was born May 18, 1933 at Strawberry Point, Iowa, the daughter of Ellsworth Asher and Grace Elizabeth (Stahl) Alderson. On February 12, 1950 she was united in marriage to Kenneth Dean Dopp at the Lutheran Church in Strawberry Point. Leone and Kenneth farmed in the Winthrop, Lamont, Oelwein and Fayette areas until moving to Oelwein in 1962. Leone was a cook at the Oelwein Sale Barn for 10 years and the Sportsman’s Club for 20 years. Leone and Kenneth owned and operated First Avenue Auction in Oelwein and Hazleton for 20 years. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and Volga River Riders Saddle Club. She enjoyed cooking, embroidering, quilting, sewing, puzzles, board games, visiting and most of all spending time with her family.

Leone is survived by her 5 children: Dianna Brandenburg of Oelwein, Darla Kuhens of Des Moines, Dixie (Harland) Olson of Solomon, Kansas, Darin Dopp of Strawberry Point and Dacia (Jack) Fouts of Canton, Illinois; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; 1 sister, Shirley (Charles) Kuehl of Arlington; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband on March 28, 2015; son-in-law: Bob Brandenburg and a nephew Barry Michael Dopp.
