Donald Francis Henry, 79, of Quasqueton, IA died Tuesday, June 10th, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, IA.

Don was born July 5, 1934 in Oelwein, Iowa, the son of Clare & Effie (Johnson) Henry. In 1936 his family moved to southern California. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in January 15, 1952 and served in the Korean Conflict, until his honorable discharge in June 24, 1955. In 1976 he established D.F. Henry & Sons Construction, INC. in Newhall, CA, and operating it proudly for over 20 years. He moved back to Iowa in 1996, and on November 8, 1999 he married to Jeannette Davis in Las Vegas, NV, the couple made their home in Quasqueton, IA. He was a member of American Legion Post 434 and was instrumental in building the Veterans Memorial in Quasqueton, IA, and organizing the 2013 Honor Flight for his Legion post members.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by his beloved Wife Jeannette in 2011, a brother Robert Henry, and a sister Wanda Ballard.

He is survived by his three sons Michael Henry, Roseville, CA, Kenneth (Joan) Henry, Lake Elizabeth, CA, & Patrick (Karen Wallace) Henry, Quasqueton, IA, five grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and a sister Doris (Tommy) Grahm, Grants Pass, OR.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, June 14th, 2014 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Winthrop, IA, with Rev. Don Plamondon officiating. Inurnment will be in Quasqueton Cemetery.
