Virginia Ann Hoover, 56, of Walker, Iowa died Thursday morning, March 20, 2014 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, following a courageous battle with cancer since 2008.
Virginia was born on July 15, 1957, in Independence, Iowa the daughter of Leslie L. and Nettie C. (Anslme) Leohr. She was a 1976 graduate of the East Buchanan High School in Winthrop, Iowa and received an accounting certificate from Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. On April 22, 1978 she was united into marriage to DeWayne J. Hoover in the Hoover Wesleyan Church, Walker, Iowa. The family made their home near Walker and Troy Mills, Iowa. Virginia was employed with Collins Radio, United Title, Lafeubrue, US Cellular, All Farms Machinery, and most recently with Transamerica Insurance Company in Cedar Rapids for the last 13 years.
She is survived by her husband DeWayne Hoover, Walker, IA, three children; Patrick (Lynette) Hoover, Troy Mills, IA, Michelle Hoover, Troy Mills, IA., and Ashley Hoover, Quasqueton, IA. A granddaughter; Lynette Parmenter, Quasqueton, IA., her father Leslie L. Leohr, Quasqueton, IA., two sisters; Rosemary McCombs, Jesup, IA., and Theresa Leohr, Independence, IA. and a brother Charles (Heidi) Leohr, Waverly, IA, and many nieces and nephews.
Virginia was preceded in death by her Mother; Nettie Leohr.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, at Hoover Wesleyan Church, Walker, Iowa with Rev. Charles Clark, Rev. Kevin Jennings, and Rev. Jamie Wolf officiating. Burial will be in the Circle Grove Cemetery, Walker, Iowa. Friends may call from 3 to 7 PM Sunday at the Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Quasqueton, Iowa and from 9 AM till services Monday at the church.
