Orva L. Wright, 99, of Independence, Iowa died Friday, January 13, 2012, at the West Village Care in Independence, Iowa.

Orva was born on February 12, 1912, near Walker, Iowa the son of George H. and Grace M. (Gipe) Wright. He attended country schools near Walker, Iowa. He was married to Donna Hoover on April 28, 1936. The couple later divorced. Orva farmed and in 1955 he became employed with Wilson Foods in Cedar Rapids working until his retirement in 1977.

He is survived by three children; Larry (Rachel) Wright, Independence, Iowa, Charlotte (Thomas) Peyton, Winthrop, Iowa, and Kenneth (Loretta) Wright, Walker, Iowa, nine grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren,

He was preceded in death by his parents, a great grandson, four brothers; Robert, Ranson, Edd, and Everett Wright, two sisters; Verna Workman and Edna Edgeton, and a daughter-in-law Rachel Wright.

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday at the Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence with Rev. William F. Hill officiating. Burial will be in the Circle Grove Cemetery, Walker, Iowa. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 PM Tuesday and from 8 am till services Wednesday.
