Sharon R. Danehy, 70, of Independence, Iowa died Wednesday, September 28, 2011, at the Buchanan County Health Care Center in Independence, Iowa.

Sharon was born on August 9, 1941 in Vinton, Iowa the daughter of Howard T. and Edith F. (Miller) Nutt. She attended the Rowley School, Rowley, Iowa and was married to William P. Danehy Sr. on August 16, 1960. The couple made their home in Independence, Iowa where Sharon work as a housekeeper for the elderly in the Independence area.

She is survived by her husband William Danehy, Sr., four children; William (Carol) Danehy, Jr., Muscada, WI., Deanna (Ed) Danehy-Hyke, Independence, IA., Suzette Danehy, Hazelton, IA., Melinda (Kim) Tielebein, Hazelton, IA., ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, her step-father; Horace Booies, Muscada, WI.,four sisters; Judy Lindsey, Vinton, IA., Linda Barnett, Richland Center, WI., Marilyn Wade, Jackson, MS., Susan Boies, Muscada, WI., and a brother; John Boies, Richland Center, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a granddaughter, Brittany Mae Danehy.

Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 30, 2011 at the Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence with Rev. Ginny Bass, Hospice Chaplin, officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date at the Wilson Cemetery, Independence, Iowa. Friends may call from 9 a.m. till services Friday at the funeral home.
