Jesup – Germain C. (Kayser) Decker, 76, years old of Jesup, IA, died Wednesday, December 15, 2010, at East Towne Care Center, Independence, IA. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. – Monday,

December 20, 2010, at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Jesup, IA, with burial at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Independence, IA.

Visitation will be from 2:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, where there will be a Parish Rosary at 3:00 p.m. and a Vigil Service at 6:00 p.m. Sunday.

Visitation will continue for an hour before services Monday at the church.

A memorial fund has been established in her name.

Mrs. Decker was born February 6, 1934, at Waterloo, IA, the daughter of Adolph J. Steils and Antoinette (Backes) Steils.

She attended school in Jesup and graduated from Jesup High School in 1953. On February 3, 1954, she was united in marriage to Anthony Joseph Kayser at Independence, IA. They later divorced. On April 7, 1975, she was united in marriage to Charles Raymond Decker in Oelwein, IA. He preceded her in death on September 30, 2002. Germain was a homemaker and also worked as a cook at St. John’s school, then 10 years at Cudahy Foods in Independence. She later worked at the Other Half Restaurant in Jesup. She enjoyed fishing, crochet, embroidery, quilting, bingo and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Decker is survived by three daughters, Linda (Scott Morris) Kayser of Raymond, IA, Karen (Rick) Kayser-Kemp of Tripoli, IA, Sharon (Dave) Galing of Center Point, IA; four sons, Dan Kayser of Waterloo, IA, Gary Kayser of Urbana, IA, Dennis (Lisa) Kayser of Jesup, IA, Kenny (Annette) Kayser of Sanger, TX; 24 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, two step-sons, Laverne (Phyllis) Decker of Aurora, IA, Andy (Patty) Decker of Waterloo, IA; one step-daughter, Linda Decker of Waterloo, IA; two brothers, Charles (Rosie) Steils of Gilbertville, IA, Raymond Steils of Cedar Falls, IA; four sisters, Manetta Buzynski of Waterloo, IA, Jeanne (Dorrence) Arnold of Oelwein, IA, Shirley (Norman) Duffy of Fairbank, IA; Joyce (Donnie) Kane of Shreveport, LA; three sisters-in-law, Maxine (Melvin) Kalvig of Ionia, IA, Betty Kleitsch of Fairbank, IA, Mary Decker of Evansdale, IA; one brother –in- law, Fred Mettner of Waterloo, IA.

In addition to her husband, Charles, she is preceded in death by her parents; two infant sons, Anthony Kayser and Joseph Kayser; a great-granddaughter, Toni Lynne Kayser, one sister, Margie Mettner; one brother, Robert Steils, one sister-in-law, Sr. Mary Agatha Kayser and five brothers-in-law, Joe Buzynski, Donald Kayser, Irvin O’Connell, Orville Kleitsch and Robert Decker.
