Funeral services for William Albert Johnson, 60, will be held at 2 p, m. Saturday,-Feb. 12, at
the Swanson Funeral home in Independence.

Mr. Johnson died at 8:10 p. m. Wednesday, Feb.9. at the People's hospital. He had been in ill health for many years. The son of Edward and Pauline Soenksen Johnson, he was born in Homer township on April 19,1894. He lived in Buchanan county all his life.

He married Miss Beulah Worstall in Independence on March 16, 1920, at the old parsonage of the First Methodist church.He was a member of the
First Methodist church, the American Legion, the A.F. of A.M. Masonic orders and the Northeast Iowa peace Officers association.

He had been a Buchanan county justice of the peace since 1938 and had operated a credit bureau and collection Agency Until September of 19S4.He served with the U. S. Navy in World War I.

Mr Johnson is survived by his wife,two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Crabbe of Independence and Mrs. Lora Moran of Youngstown,Ohio; one son, Warren of Independence, three grandsons: three brothers, John F. Johnson of Omaha, Neb., Joseph A. Johnson of Cedar Rapids and Henry N. Johnson of Santa Rosa, Calif.;and one sister, Mrs. Anna Baker of North Liberty.

The Rev. William Kettlitz will officiate at the funeral services and burial will be In Mount Hope
cemetery. Masonic services will be conducted at the funeral home and military rites will be held at the graveside.
