Mrs. Minnie M. Marling, 79,died at 9:30 p. m. Friday, Jan. 21,n Waterloo. Funeral services,
were held at 1:30 p. m. at Walnut street Baptist church in Waterloo.

The Rev. G. Arthur Woolsey officiated at the service. Burial was at Wilson cemetery in Independence. Parrot and Wood Funeral home was in charge of the arrangements.

Winnie M. Melick was born March 3. 1815 near Quasqueton, the daughter of Jesse and Lucinda Melick. She married Harry Marling Nov. 19. 1902. They farmed near Winthrop and later near Quasqueton. Her husband preceded her in death in 1907 and she moved to Waterloo in 1943 where she made her home with her son. Walter.

She was also preceded in death by her parents,one daughter, one son, six brothers and two sisters.

She was a member of the Baptist church in Quasqueton, the V. F. W. Auxiliary and was a charter member of the Waterloo Gold Star Mothers.

She is survived by three sons,Walter of Waterloo, Glen of Quasqueton, and George of Elmhurst,Ill; two daughters, Mrs. Lester H. Rasmussen of Waterloo and Mrs.Oscar Callison of Davenport; three: sisters, Mrs. Harry Williams of Waterloo, Mrs. Grace Wiegand of Spirit Lake, and Miss Viva Melick of Quasqueton; two brothers,Ray of Waterloo and Will of Washburn, N.Dak.
