Mrs. Margaret Josephine Bechter

Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Josephine Bechter, 76, were held at 9 a. m. Thursday, Jan. 13,at St. Joseph's Catholic church in Independence.

Mrs. Bechter died at 7 p. m. Monday, Jan. 10, at
the People's hospital following an illness of many years.

The daughter of Nicholas and Almira Blondm Jardee, she was born at Hazleton July 28, 1878
She had spent her entire lifetime in this community.

On Jan. 15. 1902. she was married to Joseph A. Bechter at St. John's church in Independence.
He died Sept. 15. 1942.Mrs. Bechter was a member of St. Joseph's church, St. Anne's circle and the Rosary society,She is survived by one daughter,
Mrs. Herbert D. Coons of Independence;two granddaughters,Mrs. Leonard Hunter and Mrs
Kenneth Gillpatrick, both of Independence; 11 great grandchildren: and two sisters, Mrs, Ben
Davis of Easton, Mo., and Mrs.A. F. Moore of St. Joseph, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her husband and three brothers.The Rev. Fr. Henry Nosbisch
officiated at funeral rites and burial was in St. John's cemetery.

Pallbearers were George Klotzbach,Herbert Weber, George Weber, Charles Leckington, Harvey Latham and C. V. McDonald.

The Swanson Funeral home was in charge.
