PFC Loraine M. BRADLEY

Fairbank Ia. – Mrs. Lillie Bradley received a telegram from the War Department Monday that her son, Pfc. Loraine M. Bradley, was killed in action on June 29 (1944) in the European area.

Loraine entered service Nov. 4, 1942 in the coast artillery and was sent to Ft. Sheridan, Ill.,for training. He left for overseas about a year ago (1943) and landed in England. He has been fighting in France since the invasion and his last letter was written June 15 (1944).

He was born on a farm southwest of town Oct. 3, 1903, son of Wright and Lillie Bradley, and attended the rural school. He worked on a farm and later attended the Stinson Auto school, at Kansas City, Mo., and a operated a garage and produce house here for some time.

For the last eight years he worked in the R. S. Bentley mill in Fairbank. He was a member of the Fairbank Baptist Church.

Surviving are his mother, and sister, Esther Bradley; and one brother, Roland of Fairbank.
