Marjorie M. Zieser, 77, of Independence, Iowa died Friday morning, October 8, 2010 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Marjorie was born on January 18, 1933, in Fairbank, Iowa the daughter of John P. and Myrtie M. (Diehl) Shannon.

She was a 1950 graduate of the Independence High School, and was united in marriage to Louis J. Zieser on January 18, 1954. The family made their home in Independence.

Surviving are four children; Dee (Greg) Weber, Jesup, IA., Daniel (Sue) Zieser, Hazelton, IA., Denise Lellig, and Diana Zieser both of Independence, IA., eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and a brother; Russell Shannon, Independence, Iowa

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Louis in 2007, 6 brothers; Jack, Francis, Donald, Duane, Richard, and Owen Shannon, a sister; Rosemary Shannon, 1 grandson, and a step great granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Monday, October 11, 2010 at the Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence, IA with Sharon Bainbridge officiating.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 P.M. Sunday and from 9 AM till services Monday at the funeral home, where a rosary will be recited at 4 P.M. and a vigil service will be held at 7:30 P.M. Sunday.
