Talen Lee Youngblut was born on Tuesday, November 18, 2008, at Covenant Hospital in Waterloo, the son of Troy and Maria James Youngblut. He entered into his eternal rest on Thursday, November 20, 2008, at University Hospitals in Iowa City from complications of birth. His family donated his heart tissue to the Iowa Donor Network to benefit others.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, LeRoy Youngblut.

Survivors include his parents, Troy and Maria of Jesup; his two sisters, Alexis and Peyton; his maternal grandparents, Jim and Janet James of Winthrop; his paternal grandmother, Mary Youngblut of Jesup; his maternal great grandparents, Ted and Idell James of Winthrop; his paternal great grandfather, Ray Youngblut of Jesup; and many other relatives.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, November 24, 2008, at St. Athanasius Catholic Church in Jesup with Father Kenneth Stecher officiating. Music was provided by Todd Rohlfsen, Marian Woods, and the church choir. Casketbearers were his uncles, Travis James and Brad Youngblut. Honorary bearers were his uncles, Jeremy James and Lance Youngblut, and his aunt, Carrie Youngblut.

Interment was in St. Athanasius Cemetery at Jesup. The Fawcett Funeral Home of Winthrop assisted the family with arrangements.

Friends may call from 3 PM until 6 PM Sunday, November 23, 2008, at the Fawcett Funeral Home in Winthrop.
