Loretta “Lori” Lowe, 48 of Independence, Iowa, died, Wednesday evening, November 19, 2008 at Allen Hospital, Waterloo, of cancer.

Loretta was born June 24, 1960 in Iowa City, IA, the daughter of Lloyd M. and Maryann M (Miller) Baird, Sr.

She is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Kula and Jessica Jacobsen of Independence, a son, Jonathan Lane of Independence, five grandchildren, seven brothers, Lloyd Baird, Jr. of Omaha, NE, Lester Baird of Trenton, MO, Jack Baird of Jefferson, IA, Ron Baird of Des Moines, IA, Chuck Baird of Ames, IA, Julius Baird of Trenton, MO, Michael Baird of Trenton, MO and five sisters, Maryann Kennedy of West Des Moines, IA, Marsha McClean of Texas, Terry Rasmussen of Hamlin, IA, Linda McGaugh of Piolet Mound, TX and Deborah Tilley of Boone, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday, November 24, 2008 at the Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence, with the Rev. William Black officiating. Burial: Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
