Jesup - Lillian Mae Trewin, 89 years old, formerly of Jesup, IA, died Sunday, March 30, 2008, at Clarksville Community Nursing Home in Clarksville, IA, following a lengthy illness. She was born July 31, 1918, in Oak City, North Carolina, the daughter of Charlie Price and Addie (Taylor) Price. On April 5, 1938, she was united in marriage to Nick Bateman in Norfolk, North Carolina. They divorced in 1944. She later married Arol John Trewin, June 9, 1945, in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. They moved to Jesup, IA, in 1959. Her husband Arol, preceded her in death on December 12, 1976. Mrs. Trewin was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Jesup. IA and was a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Fraternal Order of Eagles #764, in Waterloo, IA.
Mrs. Trewin is survived by one son, Arol David (Lynda) Trewin of Platte City, MO, two daughters, Clara (Ralph) Smith of Clarksville, IA, and Patricia Owen of Jesup, IA, 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.
In addition to her husband Arol, she was preceded in death by her parents, a stepmother, four brothers, Frank, Robert, Jesse and Albert Earl Price, five half brothers, and four half sisters.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. – Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at the First Presbyterian Church, Jesup, IA with Rev. Dawn Pederson officiating. Casket bearers will be Doug Maiers, Bryan Markussen, Brian Trewin, Rex Trewin, David Smith and Matthew Trewin. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at the Lyn-Wood Cemetery, Clarksville, IA.
Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the White Funeral Home, Jesup, IA and for an hour before services Wednesday at the church. Memorials will be directed to the First Presbyterian Church in Jesup, IA and may be sent to Clara Smith, PO Box 53, Clarksville, IA 50619.
