JESUP - Ruby Esther Heth, 87 years old, of the Western Home, Cedar Falls, IA, and formerly of Jesup, IA, died, Saturday, July 28, 2007, at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, IA, following a short illness. She was born December 2, 1919, in Buchanan County, IA, near Jesup, IA, the daughter of Frederick August Rachuy and Clara Caroline (Ulm) Rachuy. She graduated from Jesup High School with the class of 1937. On May 13, 1937, she was united in marriage to Paul Robert Heth, Jr. in Galena, Illinois. He preceded her in death on October 24, 2005. Ruby was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Jesup where she was organist for many years.
Mrs. Heth is survived by 4 daughters, Carolyn J. Walker of Jesup, IA, Verla J. Neuendorf of Logansport, Indiana, Patricia A. (Larry) Balster of Cedar Rapids, IA, Pamela S. (Richard) Trumbauer of Jesup, IA, 4 sons, Ret. Sr. Chief Robert P. (Hazle) Heth of Polson, MT, Ronald A. (Janice) Heth of Cedar Falls, IA, Richard “Rick” (Sue) Heth of Elk Run Heights, IA, Ret. Lt. Cmdr. Randy F. (Tina) Heth of Belleveue, NB, 22 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, also, several step-grandchildren and step great grandchildren. 2 sisters, Leola Rachuy and Darlene Rachuy both of Jesup, IA, also survive her. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Paul, 1 brother Allen Rachuy, 2 sons in law, Donald Walker and Dean Neuendorf, 1 great granddaughter, Adysson Lester.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. – Wednesday, August 1, 2007, at the Grace Lutheran Church, Jesup, IA with Rev. Ronald Roland officiating. Burial was at Cedar Crest Cemetery, Jesup, IA. The organist was Cheryll Schaefer. Honorary Casket Bearers were Kenneth Walker, Terry Neuendorf, Rex Neuendorf, Grant Heth, Bryce Heth, Derek Heth, Matthew Strawn, Dustin Strawn, Jason Trumbauer, Andrew Trumbauer, Bryan Trumbauer. Casket Bearers were Ret. Sr. Chief Robert P. Heth, Ronald A. Heth, Richard L. Heth, Ret. Lt. Cmdr. Randy F. Heth, Larry D. Balster and Richard P. Trumbauer.
Memorials will be directed to Grace Lutheran Church in Jesup and to the Western Home Foundation in Cedar Falls.
