INDEPENDENCE — Donald W. Kuemmerer, 82, of Independence, formerly of Jones County, died on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008, at the Buchanan County Health Center in Independence following a short illness.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, at the White Funeral Home in Independence, with burial in Edgewood Cemetery at Edgewood.
White Funeral Home of Independence is in charge of arrangements where friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Thursday.
He was born on July 19, 1925, in Delaware County, Iowa, the son of Brits and Hazel (Hook) Kuemmerer. Mr. Kuemmerer worked as a laborer for area farmers before retiring.
