FAIRBANK - Lifelong Fairbank resident Alice "Allie B." Cowlishaw, 95, died Thursday morning, Dec. 13, 2007, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, following a short illness.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Fairbank with Monsignor Wayne Ressler officiating. Burial will be in the IC Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. Sunday at the Woods Funeral Home, Fairbank, where there will be a 7 p.m. scripture Service.
Allie B. was born Aug. 21,1912, at Fairbank the daughter of Michael E. and Alice (Murphy) Leehey. She graduated from Immaculate Conception High School at Fairbank. On June 19, 1935, she married Fearl Cowlisaw at the IC Church in Fairbank. Allie B. retired from the Fairbank Public Library where she held the distinction of being the first librarian for the town's public library.
She was a lifetime member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Parish Guild and had been a member of the Fairbank Womens Club for many years.
Survivors include her three daughters, Mary Ann (Jim) Rogge of Rockford, Ill., Jane (Ed) Monnaghan of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Susan (Bob) Burns of Plymouth, Minn.; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great -grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fearl, Jan. 31, 1998, and her parents.
