FAIRBANK ~ Phyllis Ann Ruehs, 60, died Friday, July 13, 2007, at University Hospitals in Iowa City, after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July, 18, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fairbank, with the Rev. Harry Koelker officiating. Burial will be in the church Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Woods Funeral Home, Fairbank, with a 4:30 p.m. rosary.
Phyllis Ann was born May 22, 1947, in Oelwein, the daughter of Leo Francis and Bernice Elizabeth (Bagge) Michael. She married Benny Ruehs on April 15, 1967, at St. John's Catholic Church in Independence. Phyllis was a homemaker and mother. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and enjoyed time spent with her family.
Survivors include her husband Benny of rural Fairbank; three daughters, Stephanie (Brad) Brown of Cedar Falls, Dr. Kelley (Dr. Robert) Gregorsok of Cedar Falls, Dr. Amy (Toby) Childers of Fergus Falls, Minn.; six grandchildren, Ashley and Terri Brown, Josh and Anna Gregorsok, Tobin and Zander Childers; her father, Leo Michael of Independence; a sister, Sharon Gaines of Nikiski, Alaska; and a brother, Ronald (Debbie) Michael of Independence.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her mother Bernice and an infant daughter, Terri.
