JESUP — Loretta E. Mangrich, 85, of Waterloo, formerly of Jesup, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo.
She was born Jan. 2, 1923, in Waterloo, daughter of Nicholas Frost and Catherine Wirtz Frost. On June 21, 1944, she married Irvin Nicholas Mangrich in Gilbertville. He died March 20, 1974.
Mrs. Mangrich was a homemaker and did cleaning in homes and businesses.
Survivors include: four daughters, JoAnn (Allen) Weber and Mary Lee (LeRoy) Sadler, both of Waterloo, Donna Mae (Roland “Bud”) Thoma of Bloomington, Ill., and Carol (Pat) Ambrose of Jesup; four sons, Larry (Idamae) of Independence, Richard “Dick” (Paula) and Dale (Kelly), both of Jesup, and Dean (Donna Costello) of Fairbank; 24 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Norbert (Theresa) Frost of Stayton, Ore., Herbert Frost of Woodburn, Ore., and Robert Frost of Watertown, S.D.; and three sisters, Angeline (Francis) Stubenrauch of Stayton, Ore., Veronica Vetter of Gettysburg, S.D., and Annie Herman of Aberdeen, S.D.
Preceded in death by: a son, Steven; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Wilfred, Joe and LeRoy Frost; and a sister, Marie Wirtz.
Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Jesup, with burial in the church cemetery. Public visitation after 2 p.m. today at White Funeral Home, Jesup, where there will be a 3 p.m. Catholic Daughters of Americas rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also for an hour before services Saturday at the church.
Memorials: may be directed to St. Athanasius School in Jesup, the Bosco System in Gilbertville, Jesup Community School Booster Club and Cedar Valley Hospice.
