JESUP — Addie Louise Peters, 91, of Jesup, died Friday, Jan. 4, at Buchanan County Health Center, Independence, from complications of age.
She was born June 10, 1916, in Unionville, daughter of Jeffrey and Luna Miller Osteen Bridgeman, and was raised by foster parents, William and Hazel Sherman. On Dec. 24, 1935, she married Elmer Fargo Peters in Independence. He died in 1996.
Mrs. Peters graduated from Jesup Community High School in 1934. She and her husband farmed in Westburg Township in Buchanan County.
Survivors include: three sons, Roger (Kathy) of Kemmerer, Wyo., Michael of Harmony, Minn., and Dennis (Candace) of Poulsbo, Wash.; six grandsons; and a great-granddaughter.
Preceded in death by: four sisters, Iva, Naomi, Dorothy and Viola; two brothers, Wendell and Elmer; three half sisters, Elsie, Jeanette and Hazel; two half brothers, Harry and Guy; and a foster sister, Shirley Berg.
Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at American Lutheran Church, with burial in Cedar Crest Cemetery, both in Jesup. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at White Funeral Home, Jesup, and for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.
Memorials: will be directed to the church.
