MRS. AUGUST SCHUMACHER
Mrs. August (Hilda) Schumacher, 73, of Waverly died Wednesday morning, Nov. 7, at St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital following surgery.

She was born May 25, 1900 near Buck Creek in Franklin Township, the daughter of Ernest and Minnie Knoploh Judisch. On Oct. 16, 1919 she married August Schumacher at the Evangelical and Reformed Church, rural Sumner. The couple farmed for 49 years on Westgate road on the Bremer-Fayette county line. The couple moved to the Sumner Rest Home in 1968 and stayed two years before entering the Bartel's Home in May of 1970.

Mrs. Schumacher is survived by her husband, August who resides at Bartel's Home in Waverly; three sisters, Minnie, Mrs. Henry Bohle; Helen, Mrs. Henry Zell; and Anna, Mrs. Erwin Schwake; all of Sumner

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Robert; three sisters, Louise, Mrs. Henry Schedtler; Lydia, Mrs. Henry Haar; and Dina, Mrs. Louis Pries.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 10, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's United Church of Christ rural Sumner with Rev. David J. Frye officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Cleveland Funeral Home, Waverly had charge of services.
