SUMNER - Marjorie Kuker, 81, of Sumner, died Monday, May 9, of cancer.
She was born March 15, 1930, in rural Sumner, daughter of Cecil J. and Gladys Harris Morris. On May 23, 1954, she married Wilbert "Bill" Kuker at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Waverly. He died Feb. 18, 2002.
Mrs. Kuker graduated from Tripoli High School in 1947, then worked at Carnation and Nash Finch. The couple farmed west of Readlyn. In the mid-1980s she began selling life insurance for Ozark National, retiring in 2004. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Readlyn.
Survived by: four sons, Richard (Beverly) of Sumner, Calvin (Jean) of Tripoli, Dennis (Lynn) of Readlyn and Alan (Marnita Gerhardt) of Urbana; a daughter, Linda (Mark) Davis of Charles City; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; nine stepgreat-grandchildren; a brother, Duane Morris of Lawler; and two sisters, Kathy Hunemuller of Sumner and Phyllis Stufflebeam of Hudson.
Preceded in death by: two daughters, Karen and Joyce; and a brother, Eugene Ginther.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Readlyn, with burial in St. Paul's Cemetery, rural Readlyn. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Readlyn, and for an hour before services Friday at the church.
