WATERLOO - Willard E. Buhr, 87, of Waterloo, died Monday, May 9, at Allen Hospital of natural causes.

He was born March 23, 1924, in Bremer County, son of William and Kate Boeger Buhr. He married Irene M. Pavelec on Jan. 14, 1946, in Dubuque.

Mr. Buhr was employed at John Deere & Co. for 36 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of Trinity American Lutheran Church.

Survived by: his wife; two sons, Willard Jr. (Marcia) of Rutledge, Tenn., and Jerry of Kirksville, Mo.; two daughters, JoAnn (Doug) Asche of Waterloo and Renee (Tony) Santillo of Jacksonville, Fla.; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three sisters-in-law, Grace, Florence and Valitha Buhr.

Preceded in death by: five brothers, Richard, Frank, John, Stanley and Maynard; and three sisters, Abigail Weidler, LaVera Schweer and Geneva Buchholz.

Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at Trinity American Lutheran Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel, and for an hour before services Thursday at the church.
