William Segebarth Rites Held In Frederika
Funeral services for William Segebarth, 67 of Frederika were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, at the Frederika Lutheran church with the Rev. E. Senst officiating.Burial was in the cemetery in LeRoy township with Lawrence Bockhaus, Henry Meier, Robert Miller, Robert Kerr, Art Keeling and Fred Rewoldt as casketbearers.
Mr. Segebarth died Saturday night, July 19, in the Allen Memorial hospital in Waterloo following a long illness. He had undergone surgery both in Iowa City and Waterloo.
Mr. Segebarth was born on October 23, 1884 in Bremer county, the son of William and Frederika Segebarth. In 1906 he married Amelia Bremer, who died in 1910.
He married Ida Bremer in 1913. They lived in Frederika where he was clerk then manager of the general store.
Later, they moved to a farm northeast of town where Mrs. Segebarth passed away in 1936.
Mr. Segebarth and family farmed for some time then moving to town where he purchased a filling station, working until forced to quit work on account of ill health.
He leaves four children, Mrs. Margaret Bravener of Fredericksburg, Donald of Waterloo, Mrs. Florine Bockhaus and June at home, who gave him the best of care, five grandchildren, two brothers, Louis of Waterloo, Arthur of Fredericksburg, and one sister, Mrs. Lizzie Pieper of Tripoli.
His parents, two brothers, Charles and Henry, and one sister, Mrs. Anna Hull, also preceded him in death.
