SUMNER - Darroll Henry Henning, 71, of Sumner, died Thursday, Jan. 20, at his home of an illness.

He was born Dec. 2, 1939, in Tripoli, son of Henry and Renate Hoppenworth Henning. He married Doris Johnson July 8, 1962, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sumner.

He attended Tripoli High School and left in 1958, to serve in the U.S. Army. He was honorably discharged in 1965.

Mr. Henning worked at Huebner Motors, K.C.'s 66, U.B.C. Lumber, Maynard Co-op, Grain Systems, and Pronto, all in Sumner, and Ambrose Auto in Tripoli. He farmed, was a self-employed carpenter, drove a semi, and was a substitute rural mail carrier, retiring 15 years ago. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sumner.

Survived by: his wife; two sons, Michael (Kelly) of Sumner and Andrew (Ann Graves) of Fredericksburg; seven grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Duane Mueller of Dike.

Preceded in death by: a sister, Dorothy Mueller; and a brother, Virgil.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Sumner, with burial in Grace Lutheran Cemetery, Tripoli. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Becker-Milnes Funeral Home, Sumner, and for an hour before services Monday at the church.
