Obituary - Mrs. Louisa Buhrow, nee Bartels, was born January 25, 1947, in Sabon, Prorring, Germany where she was married to Ferdinand Buhrow in 1868. In 1876 Mr. and Mrs. Buhrow and four children came to America and settled on a farm north of Tripoli, where five other children were born. In 1920 Mr. Buhrow died and in the following year, the widow moved to town where she resided at the time of her death, Saturday at 11 p.m. after a week's illness. Mrs. Buhrow is survived by eight children, one having preceded her in death in 1878. They are: Mrs. Bertha Madden, Halfa, Ia., Mrs. Louisa Whitman, Waterloo, Ia., Mrs. Theresa Goodenbour, Bremer, Ia., Mrs. Anna Keeples, Cottonwood, Minn., Frank Buhrow, Tripoli, Ia., Mrs. August Guhlow, Tripoli, Ia., Leonard Buhrow, Fredericksburg, Ia., and Henry Buhrow, Seigel, Ia., thirty-six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Emily Gaede, Tripoli also survive. Funeral services were held from the home Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock and continued at the St. Peter's Evangelical church, Rev. E. Stech officiating. Interment was in the Evangelical cemetery.
