DENVER - David W. Seegers, 62, of Denver, died Thursday, Oct. 21, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home of cancer.

He was born Feb. 16, 1948, in Bremer County, son of Willard and LaVera Dettmer Seegers. He married Mary Bartling Nov. 3, 1967, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Mount Vernon Township.

He graduated from Denver High School in 1966. He received a master's degree in business from UNI in 1973. Mr. Seegers worked for John Deere as a general superintendent of manufacturing for 21 years. He, along with Jay Ranard, owned John Deere Implement Dealerships in Waverly and Greene from 1989-97. He retired after working in management with Featherlite Inc. in Cresco. He farmed with his son until retirement.

Survived by: his wife; a daughter, Stacy Baas of Denver; a son, Shane Seegers (special friend, Lindsey Wilson) of Denver; three grandsons, Devin, Brady and Trevor Baas, all of Denver; three brothers, Dan (Jodi) Seegers of Denver, Mike (Jody) Seegers of DeSota, Wis., and Bruce (Connie) Seegers of Florida; and a sister, Paulette (Dave) Daniels of Boerne, Texas.

Preceded in death by: his parents.

Services: 1 p.m. Monday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Mount Vernon Township, rural Cedar Falls, with burial in church cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Denver.

He enjoyed fishing, traveling, spending time with his friends and family, especially his three grandsons.
